Curriculum Vitae

Venkatesh Sankaran was born on October 5, 1960 in Mumbai. He is a graduate in Commerce and a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India from 1985 batch.

Venkatesh has an all round experience of 25 yrs working in various industries. After a stint of 5 yrs in Mumbai post qualification, in 1990 he took up an international assignment as Financial Controller, in a Trading and Manufacturing Company in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman for 7 yrs. He decided to return back to homeland, on personal grounds, and joined Monsanto India Ltd, an American Multinational, as Business Controller for 3 yrs and then moved on as Financial Controller for 4 years. Before joining LANXESS, he had been working as Head of Controlling for the erstwhile BPO business in Bayer India Ltd, from July 2003.

Venkatesh is Chief Financial Officer and Director of LANXESS India Private Limited since 2004. His responsibilities and strategic areas of operations are Accounting & Audit, Treasury, Taxation, Budgeting & Reporting, Mergers & Acquisitions. Being part of the Strategic team for LANXESS India, he provides guidance to the local management team in its pursuit of achieving the long term strategic goals for India as envisaged by the parent company.  

Venkatesh loves listening to classical music which is a stress reliever. He is married and has two daughters.
