Marking the 60th anniversary celebrations of diplomatic ties between Germany and India, LANXESS is a City Partner at “Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities”.
With a thematic focus on “StadtRäume – City Spaces”, this program centers around “Mobile Space” - a set of modern multi- purpose pavilions, designed especially for the Year of Germany in India by renowned German artist Markus Heinsdorff. These projects were planned across a period of 15 months and will now move on to Delhi and later to Pune after completing their stint in Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kolkata.
The exclusively designed LANXESS pavilion was present at the Cross Maidan Garden, Mumbai from April 13th to April 22nd, 2012 and later in New Delhi from October 27th to November 4th, 2012. The LANXESS pavilion was highly interactive and laid out to capture elements of the global megatrends like mobility, urbanization and water. Hi-tech gaming consoles and other interactive platforms were present to engage the visitors at the pavillion.
As part of its responsibility as the corporate citizen of both nations, in May 2011; LANXESS had also sponsored a musical concert by Young Euro Classic, announcing the commencement of the official celebrations of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between India and Germany. The event was hosted by the German Embassy in India, at Delhi in the presence of Meira Kumar, Speaker of Lok Sabha, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel who led the German delegation that included Axel C. Heitmann, Chairman of the Board of Management of LANXESS AG.
As an active participant of ‘Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities’, LANXESS re-iterates its commitment to India not only as a market but also as a manufacturing base for its world class products.
