Born on March 2, 1973, Neelanjan Banerjee has a Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Neelanjan Banerjee has been appointed as the Senior Executive Director of LANXESS INDIA Private Limited and Senior Vice President of the business unit Advanced Industrial Intermediates (AII) in January 2011. He is currently responsible for the operations of the Business Unit Advanced Industrial Intermediates in India which is the largest among the 14 business units of LANXESS in India accounting for more than a third of LANXESS sales in India. In this role, he has the overall responsibility of the manufacturing facility at Nagda, indent sales for the BU AII and the heat transfer fluids business out of India. Under his leadership, the BU AII in India has grown by an impressive seven times in the past six years.

Banerjee is a member of the global management team of the business line Benzyl products and Inorganic acids of the business unit AII and is a standing attendee of all global management meetings in Germany.

Banerjee joined LANXESS as the head of the business unit Basic Chemicals (BAC) and Saltigo in India. In 2007, he was given the additional responsibility of looking after the sales of the business unit BAC in the Middle East region. He was also instrumental in shifting base for the production of the Diphyl range of heat transfer fluids to India. Banerjee has been a Director of LANXESS India Private Limited since September 2009.

Backed by an overall experience of more than fourteen years in the area of sales, marketing, business development and operations, his credentials have been strengthened from his work experience at multinational companies like INDAL (then part of the global aluminium giant ALCAN ) and ICI.

He has attended management development programs at LANXESS including LAMP (LANXESS Advanced Management Program) at the University of Notre Dame, USA in 2008 and LEAD (Leadership Experience and Development Program) in Germany in 2009.

Banerjee enjoys travelling, reading and listening to music. He is married and has a daughter.
