The Nagda Site has a full fledged waste water treatment plant and sewage treatment plant. Comprehensive air pollution control equipment is installed and responsible disposal of waste is undertaken at this Site. The Site utilizes treated sewage water for make-up water of cooling towers and has a reverse osmosis plant to further process the sewage water for the use as boiler feed water. The site also efficiently recycles steam condensate.
Nagda Site has constructed a co-generation plant which is fuelled by biomass. This makes the whole site almost independent of external electricity supply. The facility provides four megawatts of power and 45 tons of steam per hour. This promotes energy generation from renewable sources which not only support farmers by promoting soya farming in the region but also save fossil fuel (Coal) in the order of 70,000 MT per year.
LANXESS also has seven windmills in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra which generate approximately 700 MWh of electricity every year.
