For the first time the specialty chemicals company participated in the international plastics fair in New Delhi, where it presented its latest products and technologies. - Shortly beforehand LANXESS had officially inaugurated a new facility for manufacturing high-tech plastics at its site in Jhagadia.
Music for the German-Indian friendship (June 2011)
More than 50 young musicians from Germany and India of the Young Euro Classic Orchestra, sponsored by LANXESS had a n exceptional gig on May 31st in New Dehli. Guests of honor at the concert included Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel, India’s Parliamentary Speaker Meira Kumar and a delegation including LANXESS’s CEO Axel Heitmann. They met to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of India and the Federal Republic of Germany. This was the kick-off event for joint celebrations organized under the tagline “Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities”.

LANXESS in Jhagadia - Facts and Figures
LANXESS is building a new plant for the Ion Exchange Resins and Rubber Chemicals business units in Jhagadia, Gujarat state, India. LANXESS has completed the first phase of construction of its new site and the production of rubber chemicals started in March 2010.
LANXESS in Jhagadia - Green Site
LANXESS will operate a natural gas-based cogeneration plant to supply steam and electricity to the rubber chemicals and ion exchange resins plants. In addition, the company is building a modern wastewater treatment plant to ensure all used water from the plants is discharged well within environmental limits.
LANXESS in Jhagadia - Products
The Rubber Chemicals plant will serve the global rubber and mineral oil additive market as well as the rapidly growing Indian tire and rubber market with high-quality antioxidants belonging to LANXESS’s Vulkanox® brand.
The Ion Exchange Resins plant will commence in 2010 and will manufacture products for industrial water treatment, for the semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries, for food production and for power generation.
LANXESS in Nagda - Facts & Figures
The LANXESS India Nagda site in the state of Madhya Pradesh is located about 55 KM away from Ujjain and about 125 km away from Indore. The Chambal River flows close to the site from South-West to North-West. Nagda Site occupies about 20 hectares of land. Over the years, the facilities have been continuously modernized and expanded.
LANXESS in Nagda - Green Site
The Nagda Site has a full fledged waste water treatment plant and sewage treatment plant. Comprehensive air pollution control equipment is installed and responsible disposal of waste is undertaken at this Site. The Site utilizes treated sewage water for make-up water of cooling towers and has a reverse osmosis plant to further process the sewage water for the use as boiler feed water. The site also efficiently recycles steam condensate.

The Nagda Site manufactures specialty chemicals that service a wide array of end application segments like Agrochemicals , Pharmaceuticals , Dyestuff , Flavours & Fragrances , Coatings , etc.
First acquisition in India (June 2009)
LANXESS is underpinning its long-term growth strategy in the BRIC countries with two transactions in Asia. In Mumbai specialty chemicals group announced the acquisition of stock market listed Indian company Gwalior Chemical Industries Ltd. LANXESS will also acquire the business and production assets of Chinese-based Jiangsu Polyols Chemical Co. Ltd.
