Spreading greenery at the LANXESS Nagda site : World Environment Day

  • ‘Green Zone’ developed at the site
  • 2500 saplings to be planted at the Nagda site in 2013

Nagda, June 07, 2013: LANXESS, the global specialty chemicals company, will plant around 2500 saplings at its site on the occasion of World Environment Day. This is aimed to be accomplished by the end of the monsoons. Since 2010, around 6500 saplings have been planted at the site. To mark the Environment Day, a ceremony was held at the site in the presence of employees wherein a variety of saplings were planted.

Addressing the function, B Bandyopadhyay, Vice President – Manufacturing, Nagda site said, “We have taken several path-breaking environment initiatives at the Nagda site. We continue to increase the green cover at the site and have so far planted approximately 6500 trees. This year, in a very special initiative, we are happy to announce the development of a green zone within our site.”

The successfully commissioned Co-Generation plant and the Waste Water Post Treatment Plant at the site are examples of LANXESS’ commitment towards sustainable development. The company has also sponsored solar lamps for the streets of Mehetwas, the locality neighbouring the LANXESS Nagda site.
