LANXESS helps start up a Public Library for students in Nagda

Nagda, Dec 04, 2012: LANXESS, the global specialty chemicals company having a manufacturing plant in Nagda, in co-operation with the Nagda Municipality has set up a fully functional library equipped with text books, reference books, journals and magazines in order to assist the education of students in secondary and high schools and colleges.

The library was inaugurated in the presence of Mrs. Shobha Gopal Yadav, Chairperson, Nagda Municipality, Mr. Neelanjan Banerjee, Senior Vice President of the business unit Advanced Industrial Intermediates (AII) and Senior Executive Director, LANXESS India, Mr Bappa Bandyopadhyay, Vice President – Manufacturing of LANXESS in Nagda along with other employees of LANXESS and dignitaries from the local administration.

The library would have books pertaining to the syllabi of the Madhya Pradesh State Board, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and ICSE for students from Class VIII to Class XII. These include subjects like English, Hindi, Maths, Science, Sanskrit, History, Geography, Civics, Environment Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Accounts, Economics and Computer Science among others.

For college students who are pursuing their undergraduate studies in Science, Commerce, Arts, Business Administration or Computer Application can also benefit from an array of course books prescribed by the University as well as reference books. LANXESS will also provide for monthly magazines on general interest topics and newspapers through ongoing subscriptions.

Through this investment, LANXESS has made an effort towards providing better resources and an environment to support their studies. This includes the interiors of the library the cost of books and periodicals.

On this occasion, Banerjee said, “We are delighted to have conceptualized and brought this library to reality and make its treasures accessible to all students and residents of Nagda. We hope that the students of Nagda will benefit from this well equipped library and will use the available resources to their advantage. I would like to thank the Nagda Municipality for partnering with us for this project.”
