LANXESS India participates in "Chemical Industry 2020”

  • LANXESS India rightly positioned to take on the likely boom in India’s Chemical industry

Ahmedabad, 4th June, 2010: LANXESS India participated in the National Summit on Chemical industry, Chemical Industry 2020 here at the Ankleshwar Industrial Estate today. At the summit, Dr. Joerg Strassburger, Managing Director and Country Representative, LANXESS India delivered a speech on LANXESS India’s key value proposition, areas of operation, key focus areas, investments made in India and factors that are likely to strengthen LANXESS’ foothold in India in the coming years. Therein, he stated that LANXESS India is a leading specialty chemicals company based on three segments – performance polymers, advanced intermediates and performance chemicals and has manufacturing sites at Jhagadia, Gujarat; Nagda, Madhya Pradesh and Madurai, Tamil Nadu. The summit had been hosted by the Ankleshwar Industries Association on the occasion of Gujarat State celebrating its Golden Jubilee year.

Dr. Joerg Strassburger went on to explain that India has registered a growth of more than 9% in last 5 years and has emerged as one of the most promising markets for the growth of the chemical industry. He further added that the growth projections in user industries like – automotive, construction, electronics, water treatment, paints, tyres and APIs are very optimistic and LANXESS India has the capabilities to cater to this demand.

While addressing on a session on Specialty Chemicals, Dr. Strassburger said, “LANXESS believes in sustainable economic management and growth. Our expertise in the know-how for Specialty chemicals along with our initiatives taken to facilitate Green Chemistry makes us uniquely positioned in this space.” He also extended his gratitude to the Ankleshwar Environmental Preservation Society for taking the initiative to organize this summit and to the Government of Gujarat for its consistent assistance to the chemical industry.
