LANXESS India won the “Outstanding Achievement Trophy 2009” in the ‘Manufacturing Category’ at the IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award ceremony for its Nagda site in Madhya Pradesh. Neelanjan Banerjee, Senior Executive Director, LANXESS India and Senior Vice President-Advanced Industrial Intermediates (AII), received the award at the ceremony chaired by Dr. Ashok S Ganguly, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha.
The IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Awards have been recognizing excellence in Indian organizations since 1995, with awards bestowed upon different categories like manufacturing, service, education or health care.
The site won through a unique visioning exercise that focused on key initiatives with respect to customers, suppliers and communities besides having a concerted performance bias. The focus on the stakeholders coupled with creation of a performance based culture strengthened by an effective performance management system helped achieve this coveted award. In addition enhanced communication, transparency and a large number of people initiatives have helped to foster teamwork, innovation and a performance-driven culture.
LANXESS strives to establish competitive and inherently safe manufacturing processes, run the plants safely thereby minimizing the impact on employees, the community and the environment. This award is testimony that innovation and continuous improvement initiatives are the driving forces throughout the Nagda organization.
